Procedure & Guidelines
To take the GMAT™, you must first select a test center.
Each test center operates on its own schedule and can accommodate varying
numbers of test takers throughout the day. Once you have chosen a location,
take note of the test center type, because this will affect how you can
register for the GMAT™. At a Permanent or Mobile site, the test will be
computer-based. If you take the GMAT™ at a Supplementary site, the test
will be paper-based.
Once you have decided where to take the test, you will need to schedule a
GMAT™ appointment. If you are registering in the United States,
U.S. Territories, Puerto Rico, Canada, or at a Permanent test center elsewhere,
you may register using one of four methods—online, by phone, by mail, or by fax.
If you plan to take the GMAT™ at a Mobile test center, you must register
by phone, fax, or mail through your Regional Registration Center. Available
time slots change continuously as people register for the test. You will find
out what times are available at your chosen test center when you register.

Once ETS processes your registration for a test center in the United States,
U.S. Territories, Puerto Rico, or Canada, you will receive an authorization
voucher by return mail. Allow two to four weeks for processing and delivery.
Once you have received your voucher, you may call to schedule your GMAT™
appointment.
For registration by mail or fax in another location, you must mail your request
to your Regional Registration Center (RRC). After your RRC has processed your
registration request, you will receive a confirmation number, an appointment
time, and the test center address by fax, e-mail, or mail. Call the RRC if you
do not receive confirmation of your appointment at least three business days
before the earliest test date listed on your form.
You must preregister for a Supplementary test center by fax or mail.
Most of the Supplementary test centers, those that offer the GMAT™
as a paper-based test, offer the GMAT™ only once a year, so
planning is essential. If you plan to take the GMAT™ at a Supplementary
test center, you will need to preregister first. To preregister,
complete the Supplementary Test Center Preregistration Form
and fax or mail it to Educational Testing Service. (Do not include payment when
submitting this form. Your payment will be accepted at the test center).

Within two weeks of receiving your Supplementary Test Center Pre-reregistration
Form, ETS will send you a packet of information that includes:
-
The time you should arrive at the test center
-
The exact location of the test center
-
Payment information
-
A copy of the GMAT™ paper-based test Administration Supplement, which
includes a registration form and important information about the test
-
Test preparation information
Pre-registering will let the test center administrators know that you plan to
take the test, but it will not guarantee you a seat. Your seat will be secured
when you complete your registration and pay at the test center, on test day.
Before test day, complete the registration form found in the GMAT™
Paper-Based Test Administration Supplement. On the day of the test, bring the
completed registration form, along with your payment, and submit both to the
test administrator. (Cash is not an acceptable form of payment.)
If you are unable to submit the Supplementary Test Center Pre-registration Form
by the deadline date (printed on the form), you should call 1-609-771-7330 or
e-mail gmat@ets.org
to request test date information. You will be admitted to the test only if
adequate test materials and space are available after all pre-registered test
takers have been accommodated.
Note: -
-
Admissions deadlines for graduate schools vary. Check with the schools and make
your test appointment early enough to allow your scores to be reported before
the schools' application deadlines.
-
When scheduling your test appointment, be sure that the spelling of your name
matches the name printed on the identification you will present at the test
center. If this information does not match, you will not be permitted to take
the test and your test fee will be forfeited.
